Getting
Around Town: Walk, Metro or Bus. Very easy. Bring good
walking shoes.
- To use the metro, purchase a ticket, and get/look at
a map. Take the train which is going in the direction
of your destination on the map - it will have the name
of the last stop, in the direction it's going on that
line, on the front of it.. To change trains, get off the
train where the map indicates, and head toward sign which
says, "correspondence". That is a cross tunnel
to a train going in a different direction. "Sortie"
is an exit from the metro, and will take you up to the
street.
- The Red Hop-on-Hop-off bus is great for sightseeing
too. Pickup available at the Eiffel Tower, close to the
Carosel. Ticket lasts for 24 hours - great as a taxi on
a rainey day.
- The Batobus (boat bus) is an excellent way to sight-see,
while using this water taxi to go to your destination.
It's not fast or cheap, but it's fun. It goes in a huge
loop through Paris; you may get on and off as you please.
See "tip of the month"
for more information or go to www.batobus.com. |
